July Celebrations with Family

These are from a trip that we took to Delta back in July. The kids had a blast with their wonderful cousins. It's always so nice to be able to visit with family that we haven't seen in awhile and catch up.

Daddy's Little Girl

We have pretty much the best Dad ever, not to brag of course. Leyna wanted her toes painted and I told her that I would do it later. But what do I find when I come into the living room, but her Dad painting her toenails pink while she reads a book and critiques him on what toe needed painted. Funny how girls know everything from the start... like the crazy things her daddy would do for her :)

Leyna's First Haircut!!

We finally decided that it was time for our little Princess to get her haircut... at first she was a little apprehensive but then she was fine. We brought her to Cookie Cutters, its a place where they have a small play place, dvd players at every chair and the kids get to sit in an airplane or a car. She did great! I don't think she really understood what was going on, she actually didn't say anything until after when she was in the store with Daddy... " Where did my hair go?" She is such a cutie! We also figured it was time for Sammy to get a haircut, he was looking rather shabby. My kids are so cute!!

First Day of School

Sam was blessed enough to be randomly picked to attend the local charter school here, Thomas Edison Elementary. The Principal is amazing and his teachers are great! We are so proud of our big boy, growing up! This kid is just plain awesome, he is catching on fast, loves school and is way excited to go! Kindergarten here is only half day, which is probably good for the young ones. He is so cute when we drop him off, he will run straight into the school and before he reaches the door he'll look back at me with such a huge grin that makes me smile. I must say it is such a wonderful way for me to start my day.

Fun in the Hot July Sun!

This is one of the few moments that we all have a picture together, these moments are few and far between unfortunately. Of course my son is the one that won't stop fidgeting and has a hurt ankle so he's favoring it.

Jake's mom is just one of those amazing women that you wonder how they do all they do. She is unconditionally loving, supportive and always lets us know we aren't alone. She does little things as well as big things for us that makes us feel her deep love. Anyone that knows me knows that I don't let my kids drink soda, nor do I myself drink it. She bought us natural soda, only natural flavors and sparkling water when we were down for the 4th of July. It wasn't that big of a deal, but she bought it so we wouldn't be left out in the treat department. She is a help, and I only can hope and wish that my son will turn out as good as hers did. Thanks Linda for raising such an awesome man in the gospel!

Flower Power

My mother in law received some flowers from her mother in law for her birthday. I couldn't resist, so I packed them up out on the porch and took a few shots.

Trouble in the Kitchen

So the other day I left my daughter alone in the kitchen to finish her food, this is always a not so awesome idea yet day after day I continue to have hope that she can handle it. Why? you ask is this a not so awesome idea, well she thinks she can cook, and grabs anything that could constitute this crazy thought. This time she found cinnamon, steak seasoning and peppers which all went onto her lunch that was once a family favorite of beef stroganoff, now a horrible experiment gone wrong. I asked her to eat it, and she tried after all she was really proud of herself. So with a big grin she took a bite, chewed (which surprised me), and spit it out. I couldn't stop laughing! She cracks me up, always doing something that is totally cool in a little kids mind, but in my mommy head I just think, "hmmm, that was $1.25 that you just waisted. But what the hey, this is cute, and this is what I signed up for when I became a mother.""
